Volcano agate forms when silica-rich fluids fill cavities within volcanic rock, creating layers of chalcedony, agate banding, and occasional crystal-lined voids. Variations in mineral content during formation can produce contrasting colors, internal structures, and fluorescent zones visible under ultraviolet light.

 

This polished volcano agate sphere features deep charcoal-gray chalcedony accented by multiple natural druzy cavities and contrasting bands of translucent agate. A prominent crystal-lined opening extends across one side of the sphere, accompanied by a smaller druzy pocket and additional exposed mineral features throughout. Under ultraviolet light, portions of the agate fluoresce a vivid green, illuminating internal structures and translucent zones within the stone.

 

Selected for its substantial druzy exposure, strong contrast between polished agate and crystal-lined cavities, and pronounced UV-reactive character, this specimen presents a dramatic geological appearance from every angle.
