Certain specimens also display fluorescence under ultraviolet light, revealing features not visible in ordinary lighting.
This polished volcano agate flame features deep smoky gray chalcedony contrasted by cream, tan, and caramel-colored banding. A prominent feather-like plume crosses the center of the piece, while scattered pockets of natural agate and mineral inclusions create additional visual interest throughout. The material shows notable translucency when illuminated and displays a vivid green fluorescence under UV light.
Cut in a freeform flame shape, the specimen presents a different view from every angle, ranging from dark translucent agate to layered cream and amber-toned patterns.
