A striking Tiger’s Eye slab with intense golden chatoyancy, rich brown banding, and a dramatic natural form.

Measuring approximately 7" x 3.5", this substantial slab showcases the fibrous structure that gives Tiger’s Eye its characteristic shifting, silky appearance. Bands of brilliant gold, honey, bronze, and deep brown move across the surface as the specimen is turned beneath the light, creating an almost liquid effect.

Rather than a uniformly patterned piece, this specimen contains multiple distinct zones of Tiger’s Eye running in different directions. Broad sweeping bands dominate the center, while fractured and angular sections along the perimeter create more intricate patterns of gold and brown. The irregular outline has been retained, emphasizing the stone’s natural structure.

The photographs capture the specimen under bright natural light, while the accompanying video better demonstrates its chatoyancy and color shift as the viewing angle changes.

Tiger’s Eye is a quartz-rich material prized for chatoyancy, an optical phenomenon produced by its parallel fibrous structure. When polished, reflected light travels across these fibers in bright bands, producing the distinctive shifting “cat’s-eye” effect for which the stone is named.

This specimen retains its naturally irregular outline and contains fractures, fissures, uneven edges, and other natural features visible in the photographs. These are inherent characteristics of the specimen rather than damage from handling.
