Fluorite is a calcium fluoride mineral known for its transparency, color zoning, and occasional fluorescence under ultraviolet light. When cut into slabs, fluorite can reveal internal growth structures, mineral inclusions, and color patterns that are often hidden within rough material.

This polished feather snowflake fluorite slab features translucent blue-green fluorite crossed by bands of violet fluorite and striking white plume-like inclusions suspended throughout the stone. The internal formations resemble frost, feathers, or drifting botanical forms, creating a layered effect that changes dramatically depending on lighting conditions. Strong translucency allows light to pass through the specimen, highlighting both the color zoning and the delicate internal structures. Under ultraviolet light, the slab displays a vivid fluorescent response.
