A substantial Rainbow Moonstone slab filled with scattered flashes of vivid blue against a pearly white, silver-gray, and black matrix.

Measuring approximately 5.3" x 3.6", this specimen has a beautifully varied crystalline surface with abundant feldspar and contrasting dark mineral inclusions. Across the slab, individual feldspar crystals produce blue adularescence, appearing and disappearing as the piece is moved through the light.

This piece is particularly fun to view in motion. Rather than one concentrated area of color, the flash is distributed throughout the slab in numerous individual pockets, from soft icy blue to bright electric blue, with occasional hints of warmer color visible at certain angles. The effect changes considerably depending on lighting and orientation.

Both sides have been cut to expose the internal crystalline structure and display areas of flash. Its broad, irregular shape also makes it an excellent cabinet or shelf specimen when displayed upright on a stand.

Rainbow Moonstone is the trade name commonly used for white labradorite, a feldspar valued for the colorful optical phenomenon produced as light interacts with its internal structure. Despite its common name, it is mineralogically a variety of labradorite rather than true moonstone.

As a natural mineral specimen, this slab may contain fractures, pits, inclusions, uneven edges, and other naturally occurring characteristics, all of which contribute to its individual appearance and can be seen in the photographs.
