Discover four remarkable forms from the natural world in a curated collection spanning paleontology, entomology, mineralogy, and botany.

Designed as an accessible introduction to natural history collecting, this giftable collection brings together a genuine partial megalodon tooth, polished moss agate tower, preserved trilobite beetle, and natural dried dragon egg pod. Each specimen represents a different branch of natural history and offers something distinctly different to examine, display, and learn about.

The collection's fossil specimen is a genuine partial tooth from Otodus megalodon, the enormous extinct shark that inhabited the world's oceans approximately 3.6 to 23 million years ago. Partial teeth preserve genuine portions of these ancient fossils while offering an approachable way to add one of paleontology's most iconic predators to a collection. Exact completeness, coloration, preservation, size, and remaining tooth structure will naturally vary.

A polished moss agate tower represents the geological world. Despite its name, moss agate contains no actual moss. Its characteristic branching and landscape-like patterns are created by mineral inclusions within translucent chalcedony, producing formations that can resemble forests, aquatic plants, or miniature landscapes. Because these patterns form naturally, every tower is entirely unique.

The preserved trilobite beetle (Platerodrilus sp.) may look prehistoric, but its resemblance to a trilobite is an extraordinary example of convergent appearance rather than close relationship. Adult females retain a flattened, segmented, larva-like form, giving these unusual Southeast Asian insects their common name. The specimen is mounted beneath a clear protective glass display dome.

Completing the collection is a dried dragon egg pod from the tropical uxi tree (Endopleura uchi). Its overlapping woody scales create the distinctive armored appearance responsible for its popular collector name, making it an unusual example of botanical structure.

Each collection is arranged in a kraft presentation box with protective paper fill and includes an informational card describing the specimens, making it well suited as a gift for natural history enthusiasts, budding collectors, fossil lovers, and anyone fascinated by the unusual forms found in nature.

Collection Includes

  • Genuine partial Otodus megalodon tooth
  • Polished moss agate tower
  • Preserved trilobite beetle (Platerodrilus sp.) in display dome
  • Natural dried dragon egg (uxi) pod

Because these are genuine natural specimens, every collection is unique. Photographs are representative of the collection you will receive. Your collection will contain the same types of specimens shown and listed, but you may not receive the exact individual specimens photographed. Size, shape, coloration, patterning, preservation, completeness, and other natural characteristics will vary.

Individual specimens may be carefully wrapped for protection during shipping while remaining arranged within the giftable presentation box.
