A natural specimen of permineralized wood from Indonesia, preserved through the process of fossilization and accented by sparkling druzy quartz crystal formations.

Dating to the Miocene Epoch approximately 20-40 million years ago, this ancient wood was buried by volcanic sediments and exposed to silica-rich groundwater. Over time, the original organic material was gradually replaced by microcrystalline quartz and chalcedony, preserving the structure of the wood while transforming it into stone.

This specimen displays deeply textured fossil wood with numerous natural cavities lined with fine druzy quartz crystals. The contrast between the dark fossilized wood and glittering crystal surfaces creates a striking display while highlighting the complex geological processes responsible for its formation.

Left in its natural form, this piece retains the rugged character of the original fossil and makes an excellent addition to a fossil collection, curiosity cabinet, office display, or natural history collection.
