The exposed interior is especially beautiful, with tightly stacked bands tracing the original structure of the coral and surrounding translucent chalcedony. Soft white and pale blue-gray layers transition into warm tan and honeyed areas, while open cavities and preserved coral textures give the specimen an unusually sculptural appearance. The reverse remains completely natural, providing a dramatic contrast to the polished interior.
 
Under ultraviolet light, the specimen exhibits subtle fluorescence, illuminating portions of the interior and making the delicate agate banding considerably more pronounced.
