An unusual 4.5" Florida agatized coral specimen with a naturally sculptural, almost boot-like shape and a soft palette of white, ivory, and warm cream.

The polished face opens into a broad cavity covered in botryoidal chalcedony, ranging from tiny rounded formations to larger, more pronounced growths. Several raised chalcedony structures project into the cavity, displaying concentric agate banding and small crystalline openings. Fine white and cream banding follows the specimen's irregular perimeter, giving the piece remarkable detail despite its nearly monochromatic coloration.

Its restrained palette makes texture the star: smooth polished agate, rounded botryoidal formations, delicate banding, and areas of preserved natural matrix all appear within a single specimen.

Under UV light, portions of the chalcedony and banding fluoresce, revealing additional patterning and contrast throughout the interior.

Agatized coral forms when silica-rich groundwater gradually replaces the original coral material with chalcedony and agate. Voids within the original coral can remain open during silicification, allowing later mineral growth to produce the rounded botryoidal formations and small crystalline pockets visible throughout this specimen.
