A fascinating natural enhydro agate containing a visible, mobile bubble trapped within an internal fluid-filled cavity.

Measuring approximately 2.5" × 1.4", this specimen features translucent cream, honey, and warm amber agate surrounded by portions of its natural rough exterior. When illuminated from behind, the stone glows in rich golden-orange tones and reveals the internal pocket containing its moving bubble.

Enhydros form when water or other fluid becomes sealed within a mineral cavity during formation. As the specimen is tilted and rotated, the bubble inside this piece visibly travels through its pocket, a tiny preserved environment that can be observed in real time.

Because the bubble can be difficult to capture clearly in a still photograph, the listing video shows the bubble moving. The first annotated photograph also identifies its location within the stone.

Details

  • Natural enhydro agate

  • Approximately 2.5" × 1.4"

  • Contains a visible, mobile bubble

  • Translucent cream, honey, and amber coloration

  • Partially polished with natural rough edges and matrix

  • Especially striking when backlit

  • Listing video demonstrates the bubble's movement

  • You will receive the exact specimen pictured

Enhydro specimens are particularly interesting collector pieces because their internal fluid inclusions were sealed within the mineral during its geological formation. The moving bubble makes this one an unusually interactive natural-history specimen, you can actually tilt the stone and watch something trapped inside respond.
