Agate forms when silica-rich solutions gradually deposit layers of microcrystalline quartz within cavities and fractures. In some specimens, portions of those cavities remain open, allowing tiny quartz crystals to develop along the interior surface. These sparkling crystal-lined pockets are known as druzy.
This polished agate tower features soft translucent gray and cream banding accented by warm caramel-colored fortification lines near the point. A natural druzy pocket is exposed on one face, revealing a sparkling interior of fine quartz crystals that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding polished stone.
Selected for its balance of texture and translucency, this piece combines the smooth finish of polished agate with the natural crystalline character of an open druzy formation.
