A substantial mica specimen from Brazil, cut into a display slab that showcases overlapping sheets of mica in rich chocolate brown, bronze, and golden tones.

Measuring approximately 5.5" x 2.5", this piece is packed with visible layers and bladed formations running in multiple directions. In direct light, the surface comes alive with brilliant metallic flash, shifting from warm gold and bronze to bright white and silvery reflections as the viewing angle changes.

Areas of the specimen are naturally translucent, allowing light to penetrate through the thin mica sheets and illuminate their internal structure. Clearer sections contrast beautifully with the dense, darker clusters, giving the piece considerably more depth than its slab-like form initially suggests.

The face has been cut to expose the interlocking mineral structure while portions of the natural crystal formations extend beyond the polished plane, preserving its rugged character.

Mica is a family of sheet silicate minerals characterized by exceptionally strong basal cleavage, allowing the crystals to separate into remarkably thin, flexible layers. That layered crystal structure is responsible for the dramatic reflective flash visible throughout this specimen.

Natural fractures, cleavage lines, irregular edges, surface texture, and minor areas of separation are characteristic of mica and should be expected.
