A substantial fossil tooth from the legendary megalodon (Otodus megalodon), measuring approximately 3.8 inches. This specimen was recovered by a diver off the Carolina coast and sourced directly from the person who found it.

The tooth features a broad, heavy crown with attractive cream, muted blue-gray, golden-orange, and dark mineral coloration. A large, dark root remains intact, creating a dramatic contrast with the lighter enamel. Natural longitudinal lines, mineral staining, and surface wear give the tooth considerable character and speak to its time buried beneath the coastal seafloor.

The cutting edges are heavily worn and no serrations remain, but the tooth retains an impressive overall silhouette and displays beautifully from either side. At nearly four inches, it makes a substantial addition to a fossil or natural history collection without the price associated with more pristine examples of comparable size.
